How to Log In to a Uniview NVR with EZCloud (Phone App and Desktop)
You've got a Uniview recorder in the back office and you want to see it from your phone or your desk. The confusing part isn't the app. It's that there are three different logins, and each one looks like the others.
On your phone, install Uniview's EZView UNV app and sign in with your own EZCloud account. If the NVR has been added to that account, it shows up in your device list. You can also sign in on a computer at en.ezcloud.uniview.com. Uniview also offers a desktop program called EZStation. Uniview's license for it covers one computer and non-commercial use, so if this is for a business, read the license first or ask us what fits. Your EZCloud account isn't the same thing as the NVR's own username and password. If the NVR isn't in an account you can use, or nobody has the NVR's admin password, stop there and call PAX. Screens may differ by app and NVR version.
You've got a Uniview recorder in the back office and you want to see it from your phone or your desk. The confusing part isn't the app. It's that there are three different logins, and each one looks like the others. This guide sorts them out and walks you through both the phone app and the desktop app.
Three logins, three different jobs
- EZCloud account. Your personal sign-in to Uniview's cloud service. It's an email address or mobile number plus a password you create. It gets you into the phone app, the EZCloud website and the Cloud Device screen in EZStation.
- NVR login. A username and password stored on the recorder itself. It controls who can change settings on the NVR, at the monitor or on its web page.
- EZStation login. The desktop program has its own sign-in. The first time you open it, you create an admin account for the program and set security questions.
When something asks for a password, ask yourself which of the three it wants. Most failed logins come from typing one into another.
What you need
- A phone or tablet, and a computer (Windows or Mac) if you want the desktop app.
- An email address or mobile number that you personally control, to create your own EZCloud account.
- The NVR connected to the internet. If it's already in your EZCloud account, you don't need anything else from the recorder.
- If the NVR isn't in your account yet: eyes on the recorder's screen (to see its EZCloud page and QR code) or the QR code on the recorder's body. Getting to that page needs the NVR's login. If you don't have it, see "If you'd rather not do it yourself."
- Permission from whoever owns the system.
Steps for the phone app
- Install the app. Uniview's App Store page lists EZView UNV as its mobile surveillance app for Uniview recorders. On iPhone, search the App Store for EZView UNV by Uniview Technologies Co., Ltd. On Android, scan the QR code on your recorder's EZCloud page, or use the Android link on Uniview's EZView UNV page (https://en.ezcloud.uniview.com/QRCode/QRcodeEZView.html). Before you install, check that the app is named EZView UNV and the publisher is Uniview Technologies Co., Ltd.
Uniview has other apps too, such as UniEase (formerly UNV-Link) and UNV Guard Connect. Uniview's NVR manual says the QR code on the recorder takes you to EZView or EZLive, depending on the device. If the QR code on your recorder points to a different app than the one you installed, use the one your recorder points to. - Pick your region. On the login screen, tap the earth icon at the top right. Choose International, then your country (the app recommends United States for U.S. users). Uniview says the region is where you normally use the service, and it can't be changed after you sign up.
- Sign up or log in. If you already have an EZCloud account, log in with it. If not, tap Sign Up, use your email or mobile number, enter the code Uniview sends, and set a password. You're logged in when sign-up finishes. Uniview uses that email or number to recover your account password, so use one you control.
- Add the NVR to your account (only if it isn't already listed). Open Devices and tap Add, then Scan. In some versions the Add button is on the Live View screen instead. Scan the QR code on the NVR's EZCloud page, or the QR code on the recorder's body. The register code fills in on its own. Name the NVR, then tap the save icon or Start Live View.
On the recorder, the EZCloud page is under Menu, Network, Basic, EZCloud, and it needs the NVR's login. - Give it a minute. Uniview says it can take time for a device to connect to the cloud. If live view doesn't start, wait two minutes, then pull down on the device list to refresh and try again.
- Check the status. On the recorder's EZCloud page, an online NVR shows the username of the account it's attached to. That's a quick way to see whose account it lives in.
If the app says the device is already registered, it's attached to someone else's account. Uniview says one device can belong to only one primary account. Don't try to work around it. This is common when an installer or a former employee set it up. Call PAX (details below).
If you own the system and have the NVR's admin login, Uniview's guide lets you release the old account from the recorder's EZCloud page. Do that only if nobody still relies on that account. No login? Call PAX. (Source: Uniview, How to Troubleshoot When It Shows the Device Has Already Been Registered, V1.1, 9/26/2023, listed under Sources.)
Giving other people access
Have each person create their own EZCloud account, then share the NVR with them from the app. In EZView, open Devices, tap the NVR to reach the Share page, enter the other person's email, username or phone number, and set how long the access lasts. You can share by role or by function. Both people need to be in the same region. A device shared by function only shows in the app, not in EZStation or on the EZCloud website.
You can cancel a share later from the app (Me, then My Sharing). That's much cleaner than passing one login around and hoping everyone remembers to stop using it.
What about "Add Without Signup"?
Uniview's NVR manual describes a second way to add the NVR to the app with no cloud account, using the NVR's own username and password. It says some functions aren't available that way, and that the NVR's admin password must be strong. We'd use cloud accounts instead, so every person has their own sign-in.
Steps for the EZCloud website
On a computer, open a web browser and go to https://en.ezcloud.uniview.com. Log in with your EZCloud account.
Steps for the desktop app (EZStation)
EZStation is Uniview's video management software for Windows and Mac. You don't need it to watch the NVR on your phone. It's useful if you want a bigger screen.
Check the license first. Uniview's Software License Agreement says you can run EZStation "on a single computer device for non-commercial purpose." Most business NVRs are used for business. Read the terms yourself and ask Uniview if you aren't sure. This isn't legal advice. If you need a viewing station for staff, a front desk or a security office, ask us. We'll help you pick a video client that fits your system and its license.
- Find the download. Go to Uniview's EZStation page (https://www.uniview.com/Products/Software/PC/EZStation/) and open the Download tab. It lists a Windows build, a Mac build and the EZStation 3.0 user manual. Each build link opens Uniview's license agreement page, with an Agree button at the bottom. Read the terms before you agree. If you aren't sure the license covers your business, stop and ask.
- Check your computer. Uniview's manual recommends 64-bit software, an Intel Core i5 3.1 GHz or better, and 4 GB of memory or more. Check Uniview's EZStation datasheet for the Windows and Mac versions it supports.
- Install it. Double-click the downloaded file (.exe on Windows, .pkg on Mac) and follow the installer. Then open EZStation from its shortcut.
- Create the program login. The first time, EZStation asks you to create an admin account and set security questions. Uniview asks for a strong password of at least 9 characters with letters, digits and special characters. Save it in a password manager. This login is only for the program. It isn't your EZCloud account or the NVR login. The first-run wizard may offer to add devices with a factory default login. Skip it. Add your NVR from the Cloud Device screen with your own account instead.
- Open the cloud screen. On the control panel, click Device Management, then Device, then Cloud Device.
- Log in with your EZCloud account. Enter your EZCloud username and password and click Login. If you don't have one yet, use Register (or Apply for a new account), which opens the EZCloud website to sign up.
- Find the NVR. Devices in your account are listed under My Cloud Device. Devices other people shared with you are under Shared Cloud Device.
- Bring it into the software. Click Add Manage next to the NVR to add it to EZStation, then open Live View from the control panel. If the NVR isn't in your account yet, click Device Details, then Add, and enter its register code. You'll find the code on the NVR's EZCloud page.
If you'd rather not do it yourself
Call PAX at (855) 440-5353 or email info@paxsecurity.com if:
- the NVR says it's already registered to another account,
- nobody has the NVR admin password,
- the person who set up the recorder is no longer around,
- the recorder shows offline and a cable check doesn't fix it,
- you're not sure whether EZStation's license fits your business and want help choosing a video client,
- or you want every person on your team set up with their own access.

Common Mistakes to Avoid
Typing the NVR's username and password into the EZCloud sign-in box, or the other way around.
Using a former employee's or installer's EZCloud account because "it's the one that works."
Signing up with an email address or phone number you don't control, then being unable to recover the account.
Picking the wrong region at sign-up. It can't be changed afterward.
Sharing one login by text or email instead of sharing the NVR to each person's own account.
Leaving the NVR admin password at its default, or letting it spread. Change it to a strong one and keep it private.
Losing the EZStation program password. Store it with the others.
Installing EZStation on several office computers without checking the license.
Opening ports on the router to "make it work." Port forwarding is the wrong fix for remote viewing. Ask a pro for a safer way.
Giving up after 30 seconds. Wait the two minutes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the actual app called?
EZView UNV, according to Uniview's App Store page and its Apple App Store listing. The desktop program is EZStation. Uniview also publishes UniEase, UNV Guard Connect and other apps, so check which one your recorder's QR code points to.
Is my EZCloud password the same as the NVR password?
No. They're separate. The EZCloud account is yours. The NVR login lives on the recorder.
I forgot my EZCloud password.
Tap Forgot Password on the login screen. Uniview sends the reset to the email address or mobile number on the account. If you can't reach that email or number, call us.
I lost the NVR admin password, or the person who set up the NVR is gone.
Call PAX. Don't look for a workaround. We'll talk through the right way to get the system back under your control.
Can two people use the same EZCloud account?
Uniview's sharing guide says different people can log in to the same account on different phones. We'd still give each person their own account and share the NVR, so you can remove one person without touching the rest.
The NVR shows offline in the app.
Check that the recorder's network cable is firmly connected and the router has internet, then wait a few minutes. Uniview's offline guide goes further, but its later steps change network settings. If it's still offline, call us.
Do I need EZStation?
No. The phone app covers most day-to-day viewing, and you can sign in to the EZCloud website from a browser. EZStation is optional. Its license is for non-commercial use on a single computer, so check it before you use it at a business.
